What’s in a Name??? Contest for Bancroft Historical Building
/Name the Bancroft Historical Building
Contest Deadline – September 15, 2013
For those who have been watching the transformation of the old “Whitfield” Building, it’s obvious a lot of care and consideration has gone into the design and work on the building and there’s more to come.
As the outside is being finished and the mural for the river side of the building is being worked on by Arne Roosman and new tenants are putting up their signs, owners Ingrid and Burke Chamberlin are announcing a contest to officially name the building.
The building has been known for many years by the names of the owners like the Mullet and Whitfield families, but now, the Chamberlins would like a name that reflects the location or the history of the building or its place within the community.
With the new boardwalk down the side leading towards the dam, old windows being accentuated, new colours and nine rental locations for small businesses, the building at 23 Bridge Street could lend itself to any number of names.
The contest, which is open to all residents of the area, will bring the winner a one hundred dollar gift certificate and lots of thanks from the Chamberlins.
